Dresses for Special Occasions Coast

Princess Prom and Special Occasion Dress Store

Full Disclaimer: We did not purchase her dress at Princess. Unfortunately they didn’t have the color she wanted and we were in too much of a time crunch to special order it, but the customer service we were provided with was fantastic! I’ve heard one too many prom dress horror stories about people being charged to try on dresses, not being able to try on dresses, having the wrong dress size ordered, dresses not arriving on time… Princess was non of that. They greeted us the second we walked and let us browse at our own pace, try on as many dresses as we deemed necessary, and answered all our questions without any problems.

The prices vary by style, but were very competitive relative to other stores in the area. (Trust me, we asked for prices at EVERY store we walked in to!) Princess offers special ordering on any dress at no extra cost and they even offer shipping services. They also work with a tailor in the district, for those who need alterations done. ssed not only with the great selection of dress styles they have – long, short, sequins, beading, you name it – but the sizing options were great as well. Most of their dresses come in sizes up to 16 or 18 and select styles are available up to size 26. For those of you looking for a plus size dress, this is a great place start.

Princess is a retail and wholesale special occasion dress store located at 1141-A S. Santee St. They are open Monday – Sunday 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. For pricing or purchase inquiries please contact the store directly at 213-745-8112.

I kept everything

by MTphotogirl

I had my dress cleaned and stored in a box. I liked it and I'm a sentimental packrat, I couldn't part with it. We had my veil preserved with the dress. I have loaned my petticoat out now....3 or 4 times I think. Its not like underwear so I didn't think it was gross and we have definitely gotten the $45 bucks out of it that I spent! Don't believe in tiaras, still have my corset/thigh-high/undies set....maybe your husband will like those on your anniversary or some special night =o) I have actually worn my corset once or twice under nice dresses and wore it under a cocktail dress on our honeymoon

There is a bridal gown superstore in Fremont. Not sure what part of the Bay you are in, but it might be worth checking out.
Also check out Chadwicks.
And JC Penney

Let me tell you a story....

My mother always saved things for a 'special occasion'. She died suddenly at 51. When she died, I found several sets of sheets she bought years and years before that she was 'saving'. Opened them up and washed them. Pulled them out of the washer and they had shredded at the folds. They were so old they fell apart.
Went into her closet and there were several nice purses we had bought her as gifts over the years. All unused. Saving for a special occasion.
There must have been 10 dresses and new coat, she bought long time ago, with the tags still on them. Saving them for a special occasion

Engagement parties  — Iowa State Daily
If it is a fancy venue, then it may be appropriate to have a black-tie event, but if it is a casual venue, it is not necessary to wear something so fancy as a ball-gown or a tuxedo.
